Patients are sick of waiting...

A recent article in USA Today cites a report just released by Merritt Hawkins & Associates, an AMN Healthcare company. The report summarizes findings of a study regarding physician appointment wait times at medical practices in 15 major metropolitan areas in the U.S., including Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Diego, Seattle and more.

The study found that on average, appointment wait times have increased by more than a week since 2004. Across all specialties and cities included in the survey, the average wait time for an appointment is 20.5 days.

Yep, hurry up and wait. This is one of the reasons that emerging telemedicine and personalized health service organizations such as personal pediatrics, will have a brisk business.
